IFRA Expo 2010

ContiTech’s Impressive Line-Up of New Products

At IFRA Expo 2010 in the northern German city of Hamburg from October 4 to 6, 2010, ContiTech Elastomer Coatings (booth 3.230-1 in hall 3) will be showcasing its brand quality: PHOENIX Xtra BLANKETS. It will likewise be highlighting its expertise as a competent technology partner and producer of next-generation newspaper printing blankets.

Phoenix Journal: the innovation for high-speed rotary newspaper presses

Phoenix Journal, the first newspaper printing blanket from PHOENIX Xtra BLANKETS, is ideal for non-shaft satellite newspaper printing machines as well as for the classic four-high towers. “ContiTech technology has modifed a new all-purpose product of excellent quality and long service life,” says Sven Speier, area manager for PHOENIX Xtra BLANKETS. “The Phoenix Journal closes a gap in our product portfolio. It allows us to serve the needs of both configurations.” Equipped with two low-stretch, hydrophobized carcass fabrics and a highly resistant, specially rough-ground surface, the printing blanket ensures stable and reliable production conditions and a significant reduction in paper dust buildup. Its slightly negative paper feed characteristics ensure smooth paper flow and uniformly low power input to the motors in the case of independent drives.

For ContiTech Elastomer Coatings, the Phoenix Journal represents the next logical step in the evolution of its printing blanket line. This innovative and stable product is ideally suited to the needs of offset customers in the newsprint sector.
