Major award for climate-neutral printing blankets

Printing blankets have received an award as one of the best ideas to come out of Germany

The printing blankets produced by ContiTech Elastomer Coatings in a climate-neutral manner have received an award as one of the best ideas to come out of Germany. The “Land of ideas” initiative, which operates under the patronage of German President Christian Wulff, has selected Elastomer Coatings in Northeim and other innovative generators of ideas from a total of 365 locations throughout Germany and included them among the winners of the “365 locations in the land of ideas” competition.

In Northeim, but also in Waltershausen, where the climate-neutral printing blankets are produced, the joy at winning this award is immense – after all, the winners beat off competition from around 2,600 applicants. Elastomer Coatings head Heiko Eymer will accept the award on April 1 at a reception held by the government of Lower Saxony in Hanover.

The competition, which is held every year in cooperation with Deutsche Bank, offers rewards to the best entries for Germany’s future sustainability. A jury made up of prominent figures selects the 365 winners in the categories of business, science, environment, culture, education and society.
